[Petit Mouton–First Ever Bordeaux Second Wine]
Due to poor harvest in 1927 Bordeaux, in order not to ruin the reputation of Chateau Mouton, Philip Rothschild decided to down grade the wines of 1927 and renamed it as Carruades de Mouton. There is no Chateau Mouton in 1927. This was the first Bordeaux second wine and Carruades is a parcel of land located at the junction of Mouton and Lafite vineyards. The second wine of Mouton was launched in 1993 and named as Le Second Vin De Mouton, however it was controversial and stopped by relevant authorities. Finally, in 1994, Petit Mouton, the official second wine of chateau Mouton, was officially born and used until now.

1927年份波爾多葡萄的收成並不理想，為了不影響木桐酒莊的聲譽，菲利普-羅斯柴爾德決定將當年全部的葡萄酒降級，改稱為Carruades de Mouton，開創了波爾多酒莊“副牌酒”的先河，1927年當年並沒有Chateau Mouton這酒，因實際上Carruades是一塊位於武當和拉菲酒莊葡萄園交界處的土地 。1993年，木桐酒莊正式推出一款副牌酒，名為Le Second Vin de Mouton，這個名字一經推出便受到爭議，最終被當局叫停。1994年，木桐酒莊的副牌酒被正式命名為Petit Mouton, 並沿用至今。
